I do have an associate’s degree but mostly everything that has contributed to my success so far I have learned from the school of life. I don’t have a fancy car, I own my home and my family lives and struggles paycheck to paycheck. I write every day. I discipline myself most days to accomplish everything on my list. Last year I released my first book on Kindle Direct Publishing.
I have learned about self-publishing on my own through some very helpful blogs and research done online. Yesterday, I spent four very successful hours in my home office learning create Space. I am transferring my first book from Kindle only to print and electronic versions.
By the end of August, I plan to have both of my books available in print and electronic versions available for sale through this site and my Facebook page.
My other success? I am very proud to say that I have reached an outstanding 60 followers on my blog. I know there are very many blogs that have surpassed that number many times over but for me this accomplishment has excited my senses and motivated me to move forward. Therefore, to you my 60 followers, Thank you for liking my words so much that you want to hear more.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned over the past couple of months is to always and I mean always back up your work. Really, no matter how old or new your computer is, back up all your work. I was super cleaning my house one day. My laptop battery had died and I was shuffling it from place to place while I cleaned. Finally I put it on a dining room chair which was on top of the table so I could clean the floor underneath. Needless to say after I was done with the floor I removed the chairs from the table totally forgetting that the laptop was up there. My computer was under warranty but I really needed the book file so I could stay on track and focused. A church friend of mine just happens to fix computers so I sent him a message. I got my computer back on Sunday with my book file still in tact. If I would have sent the computer right to the company for repair all of my files would have been lost forever and I would have had to rewrite the entire book. So thank you Don! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you a million times over. Please visit his website and Facebook page.
I have another friend who told me about this wonderful app that I added to my author page. R. D. Maracle 2nd is working on a sequel to a wonderful zombie book. I highly recommend his book, it was awesome – I couldn’t put it down. Check him out on Facebook and be sure to check his books out while you’re there.
Again, thank you to everyone, especially you sixty wonderful people who have followed my blog along this journey of mine. It has been a slow, wonderful and exciting experience so far.
