“Like if you think I’m cute!”
I makes me sad every time I see these memes being shared in my newsfeed. I just want to take these individuals in my arms to give them a big hug and then yell at them.
- It is none of your business what negative people think about you. If you know that Danielle thinks you are one Facebook post away from the looney bin that is all you will think about when you are around her. It will bring down your self-esteem even further than it already is.
- Posts like this look like you are fishing for attention. It turns most people off just as much as seeing 26 selfies posted every day.
- These posts really make me sad because I wonder if the person really has self-esteem so low that they need reinforcements from their family and friends.
After being through some of the life events I’ve been through I have gone through all the cycles of being torn down and building myself back up. Now that I am older and wiser I know who I am. I know that not everyone likes the same things. You cannot please everyone and you definitely shouldn’t try. Not everyone is going to like you and that is ok.
My advice to the young ladies posting these status messages is to work hard to find out who you are and what you want out of life. Once you know that you can do the work needed to get there.
My hope is that there will come a day when every young girl knows how very special they are and they do everything needed to reach all their dreams.
For right now though, I would just LOVE if all my followers would comment and tell me 5 positive things about themselves. Five positive things about me?
- I am a writer.
- I look like my mom and grandma and that makes me just as beautiful as I can be.
- I have raised my children to be loving, caring individuals.
- There isn’t anyone I wouldn’t help if they needed it.
- I am a genuinely nice person. I am nice to everyone even if they’ve wronged me in the past.
Now it is your turn – Go!
