The bright sunshine streamed through the window as my husband’s alarm went off.  A friend of ours is coming over to have her son’s truck looked at so there is no sleeping in on this beautiful Saturday. The sky is blue but the fluffy white clouds have turned a delicate orange with the rising of the sun. The late October tempuratures have been wonderful. The birds are chirping. The squirrells are busy with last minute food collection. It is hard to believe that Halloween is only two weeks away.

As I sit here, still in bed, I am thankful for the beauty of each new morning. Each day I am greeted by the sun, becomes better than the day before. Yes, life still happens. We are still struggling with the troubles of day to day life but each day that we move forward we push those troubles behind us and move to a place of peace and tranquility. I for one will buy that orange candle and burn it each night (see A Sudden Burst of Creativity) to unlock the creativity inside me.

We all make maistakes but each new day is the chance to add a new stepping stone in your journey.

I am inspired by nature. When something as simple as this mornings sunrise catches my eye, my breath and my imagination the words just flow like a babbling brook. This picture catches me. It makes me think. This is definately a place I would go to write. This looks like a park near my house where my husband and I just went yesterday to feed the ducks. It’s funny because when the ducks fight over food it seems they like to bite each other in the butt. I found it funny yesterday then I saw this picture.

When someone comes into our life, tells us they love us but seems to only bite us in the butt; we beat ourselves up for it. If didn’t take that step in the first place, if we didn’t open ourselves up for the possibility of love, we would forever be alone. We are meant to have relationships. People come into our lives for a reason. If they bite you in the butt, you were meant to have that experience. I have experienced many abusive relationships. Now I dedicate my blog, my writing, and some of my volunteer time to violence against women. Specifically, helping women to understand the strength that is already inside them.

Using your experiences as stepping stones in your life does not mean holding a grudge. You can recognize that your experiences have molded you into the person you are today, forgive and move on. Greet each new sunrise as a challenge to move one step closer to the strength already inside. Place a new stepping stone on your path to the woman you want to become. Each new day offers a chance for new growth. We all make mistakes. We all slip off the stone and step in the creek. That doesn’t mean the strength isn’t there. It means we just need to accept the hand of our friends to keep us steady through the rocky times and continue to move forward.

My wish is that we all have a wonderful Saturday. See the beauty in this new day and take a few steps forward on your path.
